Post Bottom bracket/ISCG 05 problem! Help a brotha out!
Hey all, check out the pics to see my problem..

I am switching frames from the 08 Kona Shred to a shiny new On-One 456 Summer Season.. and I'm PUMPED.
Switching over the bottom bracket (it's brand new, one ride on it) I can't get the damn thing off! I have the tool and everything but it's so seized! It's not reverse thread.. either way the drive side should be lefty-loosey. I need the damn thing off so I don't have to waste it and buy a new BB (and the ISCG mount you see that's stuck). As you can see, I'm starting to strip it! What should I do??

If I have to write it off as a loss (and never tighten my BB like that again) does anyone have an ISCG mount for my LG1 laying around for donation or sale on the cheap?

Thanks errbody

It might be now though...DOH!

If you cross-threaded the thing in there, I'd just leave it at this point. At least it's usable. Take it out and there's not much chance you'll ever get anything to work again.

So the drive side should be righty loosey? I need to get it out because I just installed it and rode it once, now I need to put it in the new frame. It wasn't cross threaded

Buy a new bb for your new frame.

Alright alright I guess I can pony up another 30 bucks. It's just a shame since the thing is brand new. Do I need to buy another plate for the chain guide? It's an e13 LG1 and the new frame has tabs

If your new frame has tabs, you will not need another plate.

My new frame has tabs, but the LG1 doesn't fit on it. Are there different types of chainguide mounts?

There's the older, smaller style ISCG standard (IOLD) and the newer, larger standard (I05). Your adapter is I05 and it looks like the One-One frame has IOLD tabs. You're going to need a new back plate to work with your new frame, it may be worth while to see if someone on here has one or is looking to swap one. Mounting it with a BB adapter isn't really an option because the IOLD tabs would get in the way or you'd have to flip the adapter, which would mess up your chain line.

Alright. Consulted the LBS (doy!) and got everything ordered up. Thanks to everyone for your help, thanks filfisher for clearing that up, and thanks to Wallingford Bike Barn. Everyone in central CT check them out!

driveside BB is reverse threads. When the wrench is at the 12 o clock position, remember to push it towards the front of the bike to loosen it. This rule applies to both sides of the bb. to tighten it, push the wrench to the back of the bike from the 12 o clock position.
