Post Rawing/stripping a frame
Hey guys, I'm in the middle of trying to strip the paint off of my Intensse SS. I started by using a spay on paint stripper with no luck. Then I tried using a "Industrial Strength" stripper that I bought at home depot and still not the results that I expected. I am having troubles getting through the clear coat.

Has anybody rawed a frame before and what product worked best for you?

Thanks, Spencer

I used this stuff, for metal. You can get it at home depot for $6 a can. Usually took me 2 cans per frame. I stripped probably a half dozen bikes with the stuff. You'll typically find it'll take 3-4 coats. Wait 10 minutes for it to do its job before going at it. Painted frames suck wayyy worse than powdercoated ones. Be patient. Really patient. It took me an average of 6-8 hours to have a finished flawless product. PS: citrus strippers dont work for crap, and the neon green aircraft stuff that you brush on works good but takes longer to apply. Go areosol.

PS: Wear a goddamn mask, gloves, and glasses. Stuff is gnarly.

Thanks man, I'll try that stuff. I'm trying to avoid sanding the whole frame as much as possible.

I ended up getting some aircraft stipper from my work, it came from an auto parts store. I works great. Super toxic though. It ate through a double uped pair of rubber gloves. I still have a lot of work to do. I'll keep you posted.
