Post Tuesday Nights in Vietnam
Now that daylight savings is upon us, we (the Vietnam Land Management Committee-VLMC) would like to get started on some much needed trail-improvement projects. Each Tuesday evening from now until the Fall, we'll be out reworking some sections, building berms and tranny's, and generally fine-tuning the trail that many of you worked so hard to put in last year (called Dirty Little Secret).

If you'd like to help us make nam even better than it is now, we could really use a hand. All of us know how valuable riding time is, jobs, families, etc. leave all of us with a few hours each week to ride. However, I can tell you from experience that putting time in to make a positive difference in such a great riding spot just makes riding here an even better experience. We love the riders who are willing to sacrifice part of their ride and actually stop to help us out. Even if you can only make it a couple of times, it really helps. So, if you ride nam, find a way to get out here.

We've got some great additions planned, but we'd also like to hear new ideas. The only requirement for new ideas is that they must be discussed IN PERSON at one of our Tuesday Night Trailwork sessions!

We will also be holding a few Saturday or Sunday trail days later this year, but we're reserving those to help cut the new an even better 'NEW TRAIL'. I'll get into those plans in a month or so.

Tuesday Night Trailwork Details: Meet at the top of the cell tower hill at 5 PM each Tuesday evening. Yea, we're starting tomorrow 4/4. (Check this space for cancellations.) Some of us get there early and try to get a head start on some projects, so yell if you don't see anyone at the top as we may be down the trail a bit. Bring water, BUG SPRAY, and gloves. We have tools, but if you happen to have a McLeod, rock bar, or other trail tool go ahead and bring it! We're done when the sun goes down.

We'll be out again this Tuesday evening. We'd like to put some trannys in, but we'll need help. Interested? Check the details above for the when and where.

Reminder: Trail work is happening tonight. The half Pipe area has taken a beating lately so if you enjoy riding there, come on out and lend a hand.

Week #2 Trail Work.
Last night work started on the transition on the first drop on DLS, also known as the "New" Nemba trail.

**** Important notice - the first drop on DLS, aka Rented Mule (the shelf drop), is temporarily closed for ongoing trail work. It will take at least next Tuesday to complete this transition, and it should not be ridden currently. It is very obvious when on the trail that this section is closed. ****
Pictures and a complete writeup here: Check out the natural berm!!

Come on out and lend a hand next Tuesday!!

We're planning to be out there every Tuesday night as long as it's not raining too hard.

Here's an update on last night's work from Steve B. We had 10 people working on the transitions on the first two drops. Thanks to all who came out!!!!

Tonight's progress report:

A couple shots of the area below Rented Mule before the evening started. As you can see, it's still very rough.

What's trailwork in New England without a huge rock in a bad place. It took several people, but persistance won out.

The base layer of rock assembled in the transition.

Splat raking it into shape. It's starting to look like a transiton.

The end of the night. An above and below pic to give a better idea of how it's going to look.

A couple more wheel-barrows of dirt next week, and she'll be finished.
Next up - The Frame Twister's transition which we already started on.

Thanks to everyone who came out and your hard work.

See you next Tuesday evening!!!!!
