     It's All Downhill for Masters in Bromont

BROMONT, QUEBEC - Three years ago, Bernard Unhassobiscay woke up and knew something was wrong in his chest. The next day he was on the operating table having two of his heart valves replaced.

On Sept 1, 2002, Unhassobiscay who lives in California, rode faster than anybody else in his 40 to 44 age category to win the masters world mountain bike downhill championship in Bromont, Quebec. read more

     FOMBA Trail Day September 7th

MANCHESTER, NH - Saturday, September 7, 2002 will be the final FOMBA Trail Care Day. They will be constructing boardwalks over wet areas of Hemlock Loop and installing trail signs. This project is important in the completion of the RTP Bridge Grant of 1999. They hope to see you there!



     Vandalism and Arson Strike Bear Brook State Park

ALLENSTOWN, NH - Bear Brook State Park has been having problems after hours with the bath house at Catamount Pond swimming area being trashed and flooded (stuffing TP in the toilets and sinks, etc.)

On Tuesday night, September 3, 2002 around 1:00 AM, these vandals set fire to and succeeded in burning down the Toll House at the park entrance. Please report any unusual activity to the park office or Allenstown PD.

BOSTON, MA - Boston's City Hall Plaza hosted thousands of spectators as they cheered on trials riders from around the globe in the unique trials competition Red Bull Bike Battle. Fourteen riders competed for a piece of the $5000 purse but it was Yoshimasa Nagaya from Gihu, Japan that landed first place using one of the biggest moves of the day. read more

LAKE PLACID, NY - Thanks to Bikes Belong, two communities in upstate New York soon will be joined by a 9-mile bicycle path. The Adirondack North Country Association (ANCA) received $796,575 in TEA-21 funds to build the bicycle and pedestrian trail. read more
